Robert Parker RAVES Regarding

Roadhouse 2014 Pinot Noirs!

The 2014 Pinot Noir Black Label from Russian River Valley has a dark ruby color, a nice nose of sweet, cinnamon-infused black cherry fruit, and medium to full body. This is a classic example of what Russian River Pinot Noir is all about!

The 2014 Pinot Noir Russian River Yellow Label offers attractive plum, pomegranate, red and black currant fruit. It has a lush, heady mouthfeel, soft tannins, and decent acidity. This is a fleshy, hedonistic style of Pinot Noir to drink over the next 4-5 years.

The 2014 Pinot Noir Orange Label from Olivet Lane has a nice dark ruby color, an attractive black and red currant nose, not a lot of spice, but hints of underbrush and forest. It is medium-bodied, somewhat Burgundian, and ideal for drinking over the next 4-5 years

The 2014 Pinot Noir Yorkville Highlands Platinum Label comes from the Weir Vineyard that Williams Selyem made famous. Slightly lighter ruby colored, with notes of sassafras and roasted herbs, Provençal garrigue components as well as some red currants and sweet and sour cherries are also present in this medium-bodied wine, which comes across like a Côte de Beaune.

Robert Parker RAVES Regarding

Roadhouse 2012 Pinot Noirs!

....a dark ruby color along with sweet black cherry fruit intermixed with notes of flowers and underbrush. Medium-bodied with serious depth as well as attractive ripeness and purity, this fragrant, textbook Sonoma Pinot Noir should be at its peak in 2-3 years, and last for a decade.

....displays a lighter ruby color as well as a big bouquet of cloves, Christmas fruitcake, kirsch and strawberry jam. As with many Pinot Noirs, its color is not an indication of the wine’s savory richness and broad, expansive mouthfeel. Medium to full-bodied, silky and sensual, this beauty is drinking exceptionally well already (unusual for such a young Pinot), and should continue to do so for another 4-5 years.

...exhibits a slightly darker garnet/ruby hue than its siblings. Notes of pomegranate, cherry jam and spice are followed by a wine with crisp acids, sweet tannin and a fruit-driven style with plenty of reserve and staying power. it will be even better in a year or so, and should last for a decade.

.....possesses a light ruby color, but it reveals more underbrush and foresty, autumnal, vegetative characteristics intermixed with sassafras, cinnamon and sweet plum, red currant and cherry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, luscious, evolved and complex, it, too, should drink well for 4-5 years.
